Microsoft have revealed that their Autumn update will be released on December 4th, ushering in a slew of enhancements for the Xbox 360 and the Live online service. Official Xbox Magazine also reveals that the Dashboard update's 'killer feature' will be the ability for gamers to download original Xbox hits of the past to play on the 360 console.


This will mean games like Halo can be purchased and downloaded Arcade-style, presumably in a manner Microsoft hope will be the beating of the Wii's Virtual Console service, which delivers games from older Ninty systems to the new console.


Halo, Fable, Fahrenheit, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and Burnout 3 will be available for starters, with Microsoft promising more back-catalogue in due course.
Games will be priced at 1200 Microsoft Points (just over 10 GBP, in the UK).
OXBM also reveal that the video-on-demand service will not arrive as part of the update in Europe, though Warner Bros. flicks will be added in glorious HiDef.
The service will allow users to download films and keep them for two weeks, with viewers having 24-hours to view downloads once they've 'broken the seal' and started watching. More on all this soon.

Well now that it seems I am not buying my 20gig hdd 360, Perhaps, I can opt for the elite and check into this. We will see.
