Verbatim dual layer disks are recommended. Others will work but it can be a bit of a hit and miss.
I got lucky when I bought Aone disks, they work great on the 360 and cheaper than verbatim. But when I went to get some more, I tried another brand which was a bit cheaper and they don't work on the 360.

And as for DVD burner, any dual layer dvd burner will work .

If you want to back up your own games though, you need a Samsung drive (and has to be a specific model), with Kreon firmware (often referred to as a Kreon Drive). They're easy to grab off ebay for about £20 here, so perhaps $30-$40 there.

Software, I recommend is imgburn (but the guide says that, but i do too ).

I didn't look at all of them, but the first five are dual layer and can burn upto 8x. Need to burn 360 games at 2x

Oh so the first 5 are all good? Nice, thanks . How can you tell if it is a DL though? I didn't see it there.

Just open up your computer and replace your current DVD drive with this one. After making sure it's not DL already of course lol.

schooter, how do you mean you can't open the file? Does it download for you? Do you have adobe acrobat reader or foxit reader, or similar?
Or do you get an error message, like corrupt or something? If so, re download again.
