All my friends have done this to their xbox's but i'm far too scared to take the risk of being banned from xbl. I'm waiting to say told you so soon as one of them gets banned. I know that would be the end of my life! Plus don't microsoft wipe your achievements??? My gamerscore is miniscule compared to many others but i'm proud and would not like to have to start over. I agree with QueenB in the sense that it would take the excitement and anticipation of queing up at midnight, doing the extra shifts at work all just to get home and play your new game. My Wii is modded and I have over 30 games and I only use it to play WiiFit... Oh well back to COD 4 on my cherished xbl. Happy gaming folks

I think, the trick is though, not to burn/download games, like, every day. Space the time out between when you get new games, so it still feels like you're "buying" them, but not, but, still having to wait.
Not the same as saving up to buy them, but the anticipation is there
I agree with you

No, they don't. They will only EVER wipe your achievements if you have been caught cheating on an XBL game.

i know this is a old thread but i want to clear a few misinterpretations up

MS will never wipe your gamescore / achievements unless you are proven to have gained them by cheating.

when you are banned from live it is your console that is banned not your gamer account
you can still use the account online just not with that box ( this way MS get more money because you have to buy a new box as opposed to just setting up a new account )

all previous banned consoles on microsoft live were as a direct result of in-correctly patched games and not the firmware of the dvd drive. saying that it has been implemented into the i-extreme 1.4 series firmware so that if a game is not correctly patched it will not even boot. it is always advisable to run the newest i-extreme 1.4 firmware unless you want a banned console.

ok so now those points have been cleared up here is the newest version of textbook's 360 flashing guide.

and here is a full tutorial with videos for flashing the 79fk drives without needing to solder any thing

I have to say I flashed my 360 as soon as I got it. I have a friend who burns the games for me and they are stealth patched. I am not saying it's full proof but it's a barrier. My friend Keith had his 360 RROD on him twice and MS replaced them both! LOL

Anyhow, like I said I have a friend who burns em. He doesn't charge me but charges anyone I refer to him (which is fine) dvd's aren't cheap plus his time. But he gets games prior to them coming out in retail. I have some games that I did purchase from a store (about 20). But as long as I can play backups I will.

My warranty is still good
