84-Year-Old Woman Beats Bowling Champion in Wii Bowling Tournament
It's no secret that senior citizens have found the Nintendo Wii to be great fun, and great exercise. Tournaments like this happen at senior centers all the time nowadays. Still, it's impressive that Nancy Davies, an 84-year-old novice bowler (though not on the Wii) beat a bowling champion.
The tournament was held at the Riderwood Retirement Community in Silver Spring, MD. Of course, it should noted that Hal Winters, who has been bowling for most of his life, and won a bowling tournament earlier this year, is 79-years-old himself. Still, he's a champion!
Davies beat Winters 202 - 182.
The Wii is still scarce, and Riderwood didn't receive their 3 Wiis until March. Nintendo markets heavily toward the elder set, as seen by them attending both last year's AARP convention (before the Wii was even introduced) and this year's as well.
