Nintendo accused of faking Wii shortages but deny it

Following on from accusations of Nintendo 'faking' stock shortages for the Nintendo Wii to boost interest/sales in the console, Nintendo have released the following statement:


"We strongly reject and resent the accusation that we are ‘PR-ing’ stock shortages. We are doing all we can to ensure that the unprecedented demand for Wii can be met as far as possible in the run up to Christmas."


Nintendo had been accused by an online gaming site of sending out stories about lack of Wii stock by public relations staff, rather than being "real" news stories.

Either way, its a damn shame that people cant get a Wii easily this Christmas. Last Christmas........excusable (maybe), this Christmas...... Nintendo need to do better .

i agree with you, Nintendo do need to better.

I think its crazy that there is stock shortage a year after release!

I want a Wii, though sadly I probably won't be able to get one 'cause of these shortages...

Well I think I have said it before. It's a ploy and I don't believe ninty at all. Also, it's gonna backfire on them. I know it is. They better be careful. Did anyone read the story I posted about the best buy selling the so called last Wii, only minutes later to come down the aisles with antother one and another one
