Namco Bandai's bringing some of its classic games to Wii.

October 21, 2007 - Namco Bandai has [Only registered users can see links. ] that it intends to bring its classic Family Sports series of casual games to Nintendo's Wii.

The first game in development is Family Ski, a title that will use the Wii-mote and Nunchuk as pseudo ski poles. Allowing for up to four players at once, in three difficulty settings, the ski courses players must manoeuvre are varied from a snow park to skiing through a forest.

This revival is being headed by Masaya Kobayashi in the director's seat and Youzou Sakagami in the team as producer, both of whom worked on the Ridge Racer series, and heading many of the same team members that helped to develop that franchise.

The team is hoping to follow up Family Ski with Family Jockey, a horse racing title, and Family Baseball. Family Ski is set to avalanche into Japan sometime during the US winter.

I don't know about you all, but I really am looking forward to these types of games.
