Nintendo has announced that a silicon wii-mote jacket will be shipped with all new Wii's.

For current owners of the Wii, they have offered the jackets for free. Just go to their website and sign-up.

Will need your serial number found on the bottom of your Wii, and can only order 4. I suggest getting all 4 even if you only need/want less. Can always sell or trade or just give to others. From what I've heard, this is only available in N. America (US and Canada) and also in the UK. Not sure about anywhere else.

Shipments start around Oct 15 and as always, allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.

update everytime I tried to do it....the screen would freeze and I was never able to order I just did it this weekend and got my confirmation. So I can't wait to get them in my grubby little hands!!

I've been hearing reports of people having the same problems. They log on, place their order and then the screen freezes or they get some error stating the page can't be found. When they try to re-submit the order they get the "You've ordered your max for now, please wait 24 hours and check again" message.

I got the same thing. I waited the 24 hours and then went on and checked the status of my order and it was listed as received.

I suggest to all that if you place the order and get any errors to just wait the 24 hours and check the status then. It seems to me that the orders are being placed but (I assume) that with the large number of people trying to place orders, it is causing some kind of system hiccup and generating these errors. The orders are being placed though so it seems like a trifle thing to just wait the 24 hours to get your conformation.

Even though they say the jackets were going to start shipping on the 15th of this month, I expect that it will be a long time before anyone actually starts getting their emails stating it has shipped.

I placed my order the very day that they posted it and have only got the email stating that the order had been received. I check Nintendo everyday for the status and it says the same thing... Backordered.

I don't expect to see them until most likely closer towards Thanksgiving.

Just went on and checked the status and it now says:

"Order is being processed by UPS fulfillment"

Also, I checked out the details of the order and it says I will be receiving the 4 jackets along with a "MANUAL" ?!?!?!

I can't/refuse to comment as I am unable to control my laughing...
