Lucasarts bringing Lightsaber battles to the Wii
Lucasarts will finally allow gamers to use their Wii-mote as a lightsaber in the the upcoming title Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
According to the company's press release, the game will employ the Wii-mote as a lightsaber, and the Nunchuck will act as the method to control force powers.
"The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. "We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force."
The release also mentions that the game will feature an exclusive duel mode, where "players can compete head-to-head with their friends".
It does not further specify whether duels can occur online, if they'll be split-screen, or if they'll create their own functionality, using only one camera.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released fro the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii,
PSP, Nintnedo DS and the PS2 sometime in 2008.
