The Nintendo Wii shows favour with non-gamers Since the launch of the Nintendo Wii in 2006, the gaming market has opened up to traditionally non gamers. Women in particular, who are typically not interested in shoot-em-ups or violent games but more for the fun, easy and non-confrontational type are now more likely to get involved with video games thanks to the Nintendo Wii. (it also has the added appeal of being more physical - just think of the calories you could lose while having fun - all from the comfort of your front room!) The Wii is also great for families so everyone can get involved not just the kids. Since women tend to play more casual games that are easy to pick up and put down, video games publishers are working hard to target their games towards women and non-gamers.
We think Nintendo have covered this nicely and look forward to Wii Fit when it arrives on the shelves.
Wii Fit is a new game announced by Nintendo which is a full on excercise game set to give you more of a workout than Wii Sports. The game features over 40 different activities designed to keep you physically fit via a dedicated peripheral, the wireless Wii Balance board which comes with the game. The calorie busting fun could be used as a slimming tool which would be a move into the lifestyle category, its no wonder that the launch of the Nintendo Wii has created such a buzz.
Nintendo hasn't given a release date for Wii Fit yet, although its thought to hit the shops in early 2008. Please do not advertise in the forum
