Had the Wii been out that time, he just could have lost it faster. At least that's what hey_suburbia attests to after launching his own weight experiment. For his bit, his experiment focused on losing pounds by outlining a six-week game plan for himself - with the Wii Sports.

Aptly calling it his "Wii Sports Experiment", the program was founded on the idea that he would continue ALL of his normal activities and eating habits. The only thing added to the equation would be the 30 minutes of Wii Sports to his daily routine. Of course, he'd have to stick to this guidelines very strictly.

So, what happened with his endeavor? After lugging it out with his program, he lost 9lbs in a month and a half. Now, that may not seem so much for some out there, but considering that he didn't have to change anything drastic from his lifestyle at all, that does seem like a pretty good turnout.

So, he also found out that Wii Tennis was the runner up in calorie burning activities in the Sports bundle. In this game, he lost an average of 92 calories during a 15-minute period. "Fairly aggressive" was how he describes his actions for that one. And then there's Bowling. With this, he claims to have burned an average of 77 calories during a 15-minute period, as well. As for Boxing, this one was definitely the clear winner. Within the same minute-period, he lost an average of 125 calories.

At the end of the day, he shares that his experiment proves one or two things. First, you get back whatever you put into something, and second, video games can and are a great way to have exercise and not even know you are burning calories.

So, if any of you out there want to shed some pounds without having to deprive yourselves of your favorite treats, or counting calories every time, or sticking to the expensive Atkins Diet or South Beach Diet, maybe this program might work for you. After all, all you'd need is a Wii.

Here are some video footage that hey_suburbia took for the experiment. Be inspired, and get those buns off the couch to keep off those pounds -- while having fun!

Hmm...apparently my dad doesn't love me......

I told him I needed him to buy me a Wii so I could lose a few pounds....he mumbled something about ''every time I see him he loses a few pounds'' and then something about ''a Wii and over his dead body'' or something. He was walking away from me clutching his credit card at the time so I didn't quite catch what he said .

Yup, I need a Wii. It's official - no more exercise bikes and rowing machines to sit going rusty in the garage, the Wii is my new exercise of choice...just got to put down my bag of Doritos and get off the sofa and go find one first
