Mario Golf Wii - game squad SAYS:
Golf has already made a handful of appearances on Nintendo’s Wii, and with mixed results. The golf in Wii Sports provided an entertaining but limited distraction, Tiger Woods 07 came across as a rather half-arsed port, while the under-rated Pangya Golf (or Super Swing Golf Pangya as it was known in the US) was greeted with a shrug from the critics (a slightly harsh response in this writer’s opinion).

Soon however, all of those could be rendered a bit pointless, because Camelot, the name behind the truly excellent Mario Golf (Bowser FTW!) and Mario Tennis games, has announced Wii Love Golf. According to Famitsu Weekly, WLG (which, incidentally, isn’t related to Namco’s We Love Football) will boast motion sensitive controls, as well as a diverse range of courses - the magazine mentions courses set in a beach resort and a desert ruins.

Better still, we won’t have to wait too long for it - the word is that Capcom (and not Nintendo) will be publishing the title in Japan over the Christmas period. Great news for Wii owners, particularly Wii owners like yours truly, who lost two entire summer holidays to the wonders of Mario Golf on the Nintendo 64. Bring it on, Camelot.
