Weather Channel Goes Live

Nintendo quietly released an update for Wiis in North America which enabled users to finally take advantage of the promised Forecast Channel. The channel was officially supposed to be made available on December 20, but it seems like Nintendo was too excited to contain itself any longer.

The Forecast Channel was already available for over a day in Japan and Europe, so it was only a matter of time before it slunk into North American Wiis. It is a nice treat to see something from Nintendo come out earlier than promised, rather than later.

Anyone who wants to download the Forecast Channel must make sure that their console is set to Standby mode in the WiiConnect24 settings and that they are connected to the Internet. Upon booting up your system, you should have a message from Nintendo informing you of the system update that is available. We are currently downloading the Forecast Channel right now at the office, so we're sure that it is all on the up-and-up. Anyone itching for some new weather info, would be wise to boot up their Wiis right now and get downloading.

UPDATE -MUST READ-!



The weather channel has been confirmed to interact with games. In Madden 2007 you cna edit the settings so that it interacts with the weather channel and the weather in your area is the weather in the game. This is AWESOME news! I can't for Animal Crossing to come out on Wii! It is going to be able to use this feature. I am going to go on the weather channel and see which area is sunny and jsut go to that persons town =D
