Wii online gaming: No unified gamertags?

I have to build up an entirely new list for each title". This announcement also applies to [Only registered users can see links. ], which will be the first to make use of the Wii's WiFi technology.

Considering that the Wii already has an established online community by way of the Miis, the decision to make friends lists game-specific is coming off as rather strange. Just keep in touch in case we pick up more details on this new detail.

I agree but if its a choice between game specific friends lists and not having multiplayer.....I'll accept the game specific stuff. The extra effort involved is worth it.

Hopefully Nintedo/GS can work something out though.

It will be remembered that a few days ago, a similar inquiry had been made with GameSpy regarding the Wii's online gaming capability. GameSpy announced that while it will be supplying its online systems for the Wii's use, the console's multiplayer features will be title-specific.

Still prefer the xbox set up for online () but, as long as it's online, and, only takes a couple mins, ah who cares, give me wii online nooooooow

Oh...slightly disappointing but, if this is the way online works for the Wii then thats the way we use it.

Tis a shame Pokemon tis the first online game

Theres a lot of games out even now that would be great online, and tis a shame they're not.
Can't wait to see what other games are coming out with online, as for now, Pokemon tis the only one i know of
