I just got a new Wii and found I had one with the 3 missing pins. Used the above method with no real problems and it's working a treat.

It lets you run 3rd party apps off your Wii, allows you to download (remember piracy is bad ) Wii games and play them, it also allows you to play as many "virtual console" games as you want for free.

I haven't modded my Wii since I have never had a credit card to buy things off the internet and I'm not the type of person to steal mommy's credit card.
