Default Modding our Wii??

We have decided to take the plunge and mod our Wii. I have done a bit of research starting with you guys . I've found something that might be interesting called Wii Clip V12 with D2Sun V3 SPI (pre soldered). [Only registered users can see links. ]

Has anybody used this? Or does anybody know if it's any good? And has anybody used that webshop before?

Thank you!

xoxo

I'd recommend opening the wii up first.
I tried to mod my wii and was 4% chance it was an awkward dvd drive, so i went and got what i thought i needed. Cept, i had the 4% chance drive .
Also, are you in the UK or Europe (noticed Euros ). If UK I know of a site that is cheaper than others and was recommended to me.

Bex, you are great!! What should we look out for? Have you been able to successfully mod? What did you use? Is there a tutorial on the site somewhere?
We are in Ireland so most UK sites send here or I can use my folks address in Scotland so I would love to know about the site, especially if it's trustworthy.
Thank you!!!

The site I used was umodfo.com they have various solderless options. The site also has a link to a wiidrive list. Where if you put the first bit of your wii serial number, it can give you an indication of what drive you have. And list what modchips work for it .
They also accept Paypal .

My wii serial wasn't found exactly, but it was between two serial numbers listed so yeah, I'd recommend putting the letters and the first number (and selection Eur/PAL wii's only) and there might be a couple listed so find the one which is closest to your serial number . If ya need any help (cuz i know it can be awkward), just give us the first bit of your serial number (letters and first 3 numbers) and I can look if you want .

Ah! Now you say it we came across a website with a whole load of serial numbers and checked ours. I think that's why we decided on that one. I'll check out your site and see what they suggest - cheaper sounds better
Thanks again!!

[Only registered users can see links. ]

there are other ways to mod the Wii without mod chips etc. Can I ask exactly what you are hoping to do with your Wii?

Example: There's a SOFT MODDING you can do which will allow you to install VC and Wii Wares games for free to your Wii + play emulators and watch DVD movies and watch movies from SD chip (it's very easy)

HARD MODDING: Does all that too...but it will let you play DVD burnt games too.

with Soft modding, you can play downloaded ISO's (disc games) but it's a lil more complicated.

Have you an idea of what area you wanna go with?

Hi guys,
Sorry for the absence. We've been busy modding our Wii. We bought a D2sun V3.0 and installed it. When we switch it on the blue light goes on but it doesn't spin the disc or eject.

Has anybody got any experience of this particular chip or any advice would be gratefully accepted.

We would like to be able to play burnt discs on ours.

Thank you all again!!
