it doesn't say what file type but i'm using a png and it's the correct size.

That's one of our pre-uploaded avatars.

Anyways, try using a jpg. I think the system has a problem with png's.

Same problem here. 90x90px, GIF, JPG, PNG... all the same error 'Unable to save image'.

I suggest taking a look at the permissions of the avatar or upload directories on the server...

Ahh thought so, was just a problem with having switched servers, something I forgot to change (yup i'll admit it lol)
