Marketplace idea

What do you think about having a kind of marketplace on here? It would be a place where we could post about things we are looking for that maybe another member would have. We could either trade items or even purchase items from another member (privately, of course). People who want to advertise a business or mass market stuff wouldn't be allowed. It would be more for things that are just lying about the place that we don't need anymore and maybe someone might like. No money would go through here. People would have to arrange that privately. Also, the moderators and administrators would have to monitor the posts to make sure that it stays legal.......LOL!

It's just an idea. There is a section like this on a forum that my hubby, HalfJax, belongs to. It seems to be working well. Here is what the owner of the forum put as his rules............

Alright, here are some rules for this area.

- Feel free to buy, sell, trade here.
- Gaming/computer related. Other posts will be deleted without warning.
- I'd really REALLY discourage eBay/auction posts here.
- If your item sells, please be responsible and post this on your thread.
- Abusers will have their posts removed and will probably be banned for life from the forums.
- If linking to an offsite posting (like you have a webpage with lots of pictures and greater descriptions - not to a store or market), that's fine, but you need to put an adequate description of the products WITH the links. If I can't tell what the product is properly without clicking the link, I'll nuke the post.

Yeah, I'm on another forum which has a marketplace area.
And I have considered adding one for here, but, from what I've seen, there seem to have been some problems with it. Some stuff fine, but, some issues arising, and, idk, if, it would be that active/needed.
We'll see what others think first, if anyone else agrees, and I'll give it some more thought.

Sounds cool, but how would we know if the person we were trading with was trustworthy? Just a thought lol

It is the same with any business dealings. If you don't trust the person, don't do it. If you do trust the person, then do it. There is always a risk. The question is, do you take that risk or not. It's that simple.

Oh, sounds cool, what would be the payment options or would you have to sort it out with the seller. But otherwise can't wait

Payment option would be down to how the seller wanted payment, for example, I've actually got something i need to sell, and cuz we dont have the market place, and i dont think it would be used all that much, posting anything u got to sell, in the lounge for now is fine
And for example, some people may only want to accept Paypal, but i'll accept paypal, cheque or bank transfer.
