Fix Your Semi-Bricked Psp

SEMI-BRICKED PSP
(The power is on but the screen stays black)

You CAN access the RECOVERY MODE
(turn your PSP on holding the "R" button)
But you can not acces the regular PSP menu

FULLY-BRICKED PSP: Your PSP turns on with a BLACK screen + can't access [Only registered users can see links. ] mode...
SEMI-BRICKED PSP: Your PSP turns on with a BLACK screen + you can access [Only registered users can see links. ] mode...

NOTE:
You can UPGRADE and DOWNGRADE any custom firmware from 3.71m33 to 5.00m33
(throughly tested)

RECOVERY FLASHER

[Only registered users can see links. ]
(youtube downgrade example)

HOW IT WORKS

If you're semi-bricked and can only run this program through the recovery menu

if you're not semi bricked you can run the program through the recovery menu or the game - memory stick menu

. Download the RECOVERY FLASHER.zip -> [Only registered users can see links. ]
. Extract the RECOVERY folder
. Put the RECOVERY folder in
PSP\GAME by Turning your PSP ON whilst holding the "R" button (to access RECOVERY MENU) and select TOGGLE USB (with
your PSP plugged into to the computer (USB etc)
. Select "RUN PROGRAM AT..."

You'll see something like this

(I selected I agree, now take me to the program)

Select which custom firmware you want to upgrade or downgrade to.

There is one more menu. I selected "reset (format) settings as well". This will reset the TIME AND DATE + PSP name etc. If you don't want to start up the TIME and DATE again...select "do not reset..." and press X

Give it a moment and it'll start doin' it's thing

When done... "press any button"

NOTE: When you press "X" to shut down your SCREEN may appear turned off while your power light may start blinking or stay solid. You can remove the battery and then put it back in and turn your PSP back on and everything should be fine.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are downgrading your PSP custom firmware, you may get get this blue error screen

[Only registered users can see links. ]
Just press CIRCLE like the screen suggests...and your PSP should re-start again and then boot up asking for the TIME AND DATE config. stuff.

If you have any questions, please ask

ALSO NOTE:
Recovery Flasher does NOT work to upgrade 1.50 to custom firmware

you have to download the 3.90 eboot from psp-hacks.com and rename it to 390.PBP, not .PHP.. get the 3.90 m33(release) from dark-alex.org, install it. then download the 3.90 m33-3 update, install that and you're all done

[Only registered users can see links. ] So can i use this to downgrade my 4.01 m33-2 to 3.90 m33-3?

You can downgrade your 4.01m33 to 3.71m33, then from 3.71m33 upgrade to 3.90m33

[Only registered users can see links. ] Ok nevermind i got the thing running 3.71 but can i downlo0ad the 3.90 PHP And rename it EBOOT.PHP And replace the 3.71 in the recovery folder then run the program to update my psp to 3.90?

(unconfirmed...but theoretically, yes. If you have 4.01m33 and you get the 3.90 sony official update, and RENAME is to 390.pbp (rather than havin' the 371.pbp) it should work.

Worst case scenario, is you downgrade yourself to 3.71m33, then upgrade yourself to 3.90m33

[Only registered users can see links. ] you have to download the 3.90 eboot from psp-hacks.com

(no you don't) both links are already assembled.

the 3.71m33 link is designed specifically to downgrade any custom firmware to 3.71m33
the 4.01m33 link is designed to re-flash (or re-install) 4.01m33 on a SEMI-BRICKED psp

They were tested twice, and tested on all firmwares (3.71m33 - 3.80m33 - 3.90m33 - 4.01m33 before they were posted on pspiso for the first time about a week ago)

(first line in the post - If you have any questions...please PM me...I'll get your message much faster.)

I see this is your fist post

Does your PSP turn on normally?
If by holding "R" you can not turn your PSP on (to get the RECOVERY menu) then you have a "full" brick. This method is meant for "SEMI-BRICK" psp's as the title suggests.

IF you can access the main PSP menu, I'll ask for your (custom?) firmware.
