Firmware 3.0 finally released

Yep that's right, the long awaited 3.0 firmware has now been released.

The main new feature we're all been waiting for, the PS1 emulator IS in the update. However, PS1 games are only downloadable via a PS3.


So, if you don't have a PS3, you're stuffed if you want to download PS1 games. And where does that leave us Europeans? We have no chance of getting a PS3 until March, but I want my PS1 games!

Pointless upgrade all round and for PAL countries (got to remember Australia and erm...the other PAL countries lol) its an insult.

Of course, Sony messed it up and 3.01 is out today (or coming out today - timezones confuse me) and rumour is that 3.00 will be devhooked very soon . Thats a rumour but it would make life worth living if Sony was screwed over by their own stupidity.

yea its really stupid how sony requires you to have a ps3 to get the ps1 games. and since the psp has only 1 analog stick. besides, homebrew can do all that 3.00 stuff anyways.

and the avi movie thing is such a rip. it doesnt even work the way it led us to believe.

i have a 2.80 because i cant live without the vodcasts...and im stayin.
