A couple of days ago, PlayStation 1 ([Only registered users can see links. ]) original Wipeout [Only registered users can see links. ] as a downloadable game for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Quite unfortunately, as we all know, the video game can only be downloaded by fans who have a PlayStation 3 (PS3) as well.

Anyway, we discovered something that might change all these in the near future. There is now a web browser of the [Only registered users can see links. ] that can be accessed without the console. It features several content such as movies, trailers, demos, and as we've mentioned, full PSOne originals for your handhelds.

But it seems that this version of the store is still in its "testing stage" so to speak, as fans can't buy anything from there yet. It's just there for those who have eyes to see. All in all, we have to say that this is a rather interesting development. Could [Only registered users can see links. ] be working on something that is actually useful for PSP users?

We guess we'll find out in due time.

Interesting stuff. I think Sony really missed the boat though. By making the PS1 downloads available only to PS3 owners they messed it up - people went in search of the 'free' PS1 games that could be played on custom firmware. Who is seriously going to pay for PS1 games now? Ok, so people that updated their firmware might....too little too late imo.

Definitely too little too late.
Specially for European PSP owners.
PS1 downloads for PSP, great.
Needing a PS3, not great, considering, not everyone can get one, not everyone can afford one, and heck, not even released everywhere anyway. That update was always pointless to me, cuz, UK, don't have a PS3, why would I upgrade to a useless firmware? (and was same with location free.....2.50 only new thing was location free and security, but, no location free player for Europe til several months later )

I'll stick with my custom firmware thanks and convert my own PS1 games for it, cuz still got my PS1 and the games
