Last July, a [Only registered users can see links. ] was set by DevsGen. The prize for said contest is US 500. Here are the four entries from four French programmers. Please note that these programs do not come with a readme file so users are advised to use the apps with caution.

The second programmer to submit an entry was [Only registered users can see links. ]. The program provides a basic menu and offers alternative modes of play with a 2x2, 4x4 and 5x5 cube. The program also offers an alternative visual interface, offering a "flat" cube instead of a 3D one.

The site describes the "flat" interface to be professional and good for commercial distribution.

The fourth programmer to submit an entry was [Only registered users can see links. ]. This program may be the most different of the four, employing a "mirror" concept that lets you see the cube from different sides all at once.

The program also employs a ring that indicates which row you are currently turning. The size of the cube can also be extended to have a 4x4 or 5x5 grid. The program can also change the "stickers" on the cube to have a different image, even one with numbers on it (described as a kind of Sudoku approach).

I couldn't even figure the real thing out. Like this is gonna be any better for me. LOL

Still was fun, my brother took all the stickers off and reattched them and then told me he solved it.
