For the uninitiated, gracz54's app changes how your PSP's MAC address appears in the system info menu. It doesn't actually change the MAC address, since that depends on your PSP's built-in Wi-Fi card.

Anyway, here's the changelog for the new version:
  • a few bugfixes
  • added a few checks
  • added 1.5 version
  • added proper thanks
To install the MAC Address Changer, just copy the EBOOT included in the download below and paste it onto psp/game150 (or psp/game). Remember, this app has only been tested on 3.03 OE-A, so if you don't have that custom firmware yet, we suggest you [Only registered users can see links. ]. Also, since the editing is done in [Only registered users can see links. ], you can only use numbers 0-9 and letters A-F to change your MAC address.

Usage
  • Run the app and press X to dump the MAC ID.
  • Then, grab any hex editor (I use Hex Workshop) and you should see your MAC in hexes at the beginning of the file. Change the MAC to whatever you wish, just don't type in new characters or change anything else except the MAC, because it could brick if you would do so.
  • Save the file and run the app again, this time press O and the left trigger to flash the file to the IDStorage.
  • Bam, you should have a changed MAC address! If not, well... you will have a nice doorstep.
Please remember to always be careful when installing homebrew. Nobody wants to brick their own PSP. If you have any questions or suggestions, just click on the "discuss" link below and talk about this release on the QJ forums.

The PSP MAC Address Changer seems pretty fun. It's pretty good for people who are always recording and taking pictures of their PSP firmware to prove that they have found an exploit, downgraded, got something to run, etc. With this you don't even have to blur or censor out the MAC address since it basically acts as a cover up.
