TacticalPenguin from our forums has popped by today to give his holiday present to the homebrew community, all in the form of an update to his popular homebrew game, Space Invaders Portable. Now at v1.0., the original version was released only 10 days ago, but as you can tell from the screenshots that we have, this new version comes with much better graphics. The major thing added to this game is that it now comes bundled with 14 13 themes, and you can even make your own (just remember to consult the readme file which he included).

The code has also been rewritten for optimization, adding a professional touch to a game packed with these features

• Shooting the space invaders
• Score and highscore
• Multiple Levels
• Dying
• New graphics
• Theme selection
• Easy-to-make custom themes
• Many new themes

TacticalPenguin would like to say thanks to Joe48182 for making the standalone EBOOT, Crushader for the new menu background and several themes, and all other theme-makers. Meanwhile, we at QJ would like to say thank you to all of them for such a good Space Invaders clone - we can't get enough of it!

Recommended to me two weeks ago....I never tried it but, this is the latest all singing, all dancing version so its Space Invaders time for me

I had meant to reply to this post. Thanks for this. I love that game. Also, it's looks like I might find myself getting addicted to something esle. Gonna DL as soon as I get home today.

I love Space Invaders!! I eventually got round to downloading it and it's not bad - the themes are great and it plays pretty well.

I can recommend this myself now - small download, easy to pick up and play, fun and it's free - can't ask for more .
