Psp turns on but black screen.

Hello, again.
This psp phat I have is having a problem.
It turns on but the screen just stays black and it doesn't turn off.
It hasn't had custom firmware installed into it so I don't think it's bricked.
But if it helps any, before this problem occurred, it was dropped and there is a little crack on the back of it by where the memory stick should go. Not by the battery.

Does anyone know what's wrong, or if there is anyway I can fix this?
Even if I have to go inside of it.
Edit: I just used an Pandora's battery and MMS stick and nothing happened. The screen just stayed black.
So, is the psp just broken and can't be helped?

i would have to say you need to take it apart and see if any of the connections came losa. if not you might need a new screen.

I plan to do that. I doubt it's the screen since I just turned it on and the light came on but nothing else. No sound plays or anything. I hope it's just something that came apart inside.
Also, does it help that when I turn up the psp it doesn't load up the -magic- memory stick, Like a psp should?

have you tried pressing the DISPLAY button on the bottom?

Do you still have retail warranty or Sony warranty?

Old psp-1001 model.
It's not modded.
I haven't tried hitting that button because I doubt it'll do anything.
Nope, no warranty. Not mine. Trying to fix it for a friend.
But does it help that when I put in the Magic memory stick and Pandora's battery at the same time. The power green light will start blinking, and then the screen will light up, then shut back off?
Does that mean anything?

if you put pandora + magic memory stick and it turns on to a black screen then shuts off again, it may be a hardware issue with the PSP. Have you tried the pandora on another PSP?
