| I have already read the tutorials on updating my psp slim to 4.01 M33-2 but it just doesnt follwo through. I take the directions step by step and still i become lost because it isnt as specific as i would like. maybe im just slow. If i could get some help i would greatly appreciate it. i am currently working with a 3.90 M33 slim psp. If you plan on pointingm e to another tutorial please point me to a simple one that will get the job done. I would prefer personal help over this of course. Chow | |||||||||||

| Moderator ![]() | [Only registered users can see links. ] there is one small detail which needs to be taken into consideration with [Only registered users can see links. ]'s suggestion IF you use NETWORK update, you could potentially risk updating yourself to SONY OFFICIAL firmware (i've seen it done before) if you turn your PSP ON in RECOVERY MODE (turn your PSP ON holding the "R" button) you should get a menu like this (which you prolly already know) ![]() You can select CONFIGURATION and in the next screen (i'm using 3.71m33, so I don't have a useful screen shot for you) you should see on the BOTTOM of all the options the option to ENABLE 'network update" with m33. IF this is DISABLED...you could end up updating yourself to SONY OFFICIAL firmware. SO, enable it, BACK out and EXIT and you can try the NETWORK UPDATE... OR OPTION #2 If you're still in need of an update [Only registered users can see links. ] <-- You'll download a ZIP file. Once you use WINRAR or 7ZIP to extract it, you'll have an UPDATE folder. This folder goes into PSP\GAME go to your GAME MENU on your PSP and find MEMORY STICK option and you'll see an icon like this ![]() (press X) make sure your battery is 78% or higher and make sure you plug your PSP into an AC adapter during this process. If you have any other questions, please ask. Last edited by nina.gardener; August 23rd, 2008 at 09:24 PM. |

| Moderator ![]() | [Only registered users can see links. ] If you have access to a PANDORA and MAGIC MEMORY STICK...I'd say try it and see! I commonly hear people ask about if they have custom firmware, and gotta send their PSP in to SONY for repair, they wanna put OFFICIAL firmware back on. they can do network update (as long as M33 update is off) OR they can go to a place like psp dash hacks dot com to download an official update. OR they thought a network update would upgrade their custom firmware...and they go from ANY M33 custom firmware, and end up with 4.05 SONY firmware.

| Moderator ![]() | [Only registered users can see links. ] What are you suggesting? Did it work? Were you updated to SONY OFFICIAL firmware?I hope you have access to pandora and MMS to get that fixed.any PSP 3.80m33 and higher can use network update to upgrade M33...but I've never used it, and I never plan to. I'd rather just download the M33 update and throw the UPDATE folder (with EBOOT.PBP) on the PSP myself and let'er run

| 360Gamer© ![]() | Are you sure? ![]() I just updated my bro's PSP from 3.90 to 4.01 M33, via the Network update and worked fine. Makes ya think it's official 4.01 it's upgrading to though cuz it uses the Sony network update screen thingy lol.
