 |  Re: I'm so new and clueless! [Only registered users can see links. ] 1.50 firmware has exceptional benefits which OFFICIAL firmware does not have (not that 1.50 isn't "official" firmware. Using "m33" custom firmware has a significant amount of benefits. I'm using 3.71m33 and don't plan to upgrade...ever! Anytime someone said "you can't play SUCH AND SUCH unless you have 4.01m33..." I downloaded it and played it on 3.71m33 and gave screen shots. You don't NEED 4.01m33 to play the newest games. 3.80m33 + custom firmware gives you things like SKYPE and GO!MESSENGER etc. (not that exciting to me) [Only registered users can see links. ] is correct about customizing. You can change the layout/look/sound of your PSP menu. Change the animations when you boot up your PSP, the animation when you run applications etc...
