Ooohhh... what does this video show? Well if you'd just click play, you'll see clear enough that it is about [Only registered users can see links. ]'s Gameboot Logo Remover, as posted by [Only registered users can see links. ] over at the DCemu forums. If you don't have any heck of an idea what it does, it instantly removes the logo from your gameboot, "whatever it is" (so says Xandu).

Okay, so that may not necessarily be helpful. But these instructions will surely be!
  • Either use the opening_plugin.rco you have or the one included in the zip
  • Use Logo Remover and choose the RCO.
  • Flash the RCO to vsh/resource
Oh, and this disclaimer as well: This program (through software or hardware malfunction), has the potential to render subject PSP units permanently inoperative. Use this software, and/or modification to PSP firmware files at your own risk.

Hmmm...in bold red colors, indeed. That must mean it's really important... Of course it is, dumbo! So go ahead, press play, download the file, and enjoy.

Definitely something we've been waiting for for quite a while now - i still havent got round to putting a custom gameboot on my PSP yet, but when I do, I thinkys i'll be a using this to remove the sony logo

You need a custom firmware to access the flash0 where you are to flash.
It's a simple overwrite in vsh/resouce.

However, seeing on how you didn't know what it was, I don't recommend that you attempt this with the chance of bricking your PSP.

Alright, fine.

I will tell you what to do but you must follow these directions TO THE LETTER.
I am not responsible if something bad happens.
I know what I'm doing and you will to if you follow these directions carefully.

Forget about that exe. program in the zipfile.
What you want is the "opening_plugin.rco"
Make sure you have it ready to be copied.

I'm assuming you have 3.52 M33-4 or higher.
I'm also assuming you have a Windows XP or Vista computer.

Here is what you are to do.

-Connect your PSP via USB to your computer.
-Restart your PSP holding the R-trigger to go into the recovery menu.
-Select "Advanced". (Oooh. Fancy word. Don't be intimidated.)
-Select "Toggle USB (flash0)"
-Your computer should recognize it and say it's a mass media drive. Access it.

-You should see some folders. DO NOT MESS WITH THEM IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Just follow what this says.
-Open the "vsh" folder.
-Open the "resource" folder.
-In this folder is where you are to copy that "opening_plugin.rco" file.
-Just drag it in and it should ask you if you'd like to overwrite it. Go ahead and overwrite it. Wait a second.
-Now back on your PSP select "back".
-Then select "exit".

-Now find an envelope and mail me $20. BWHAHAHA!
Joke. Hahhah!

You PSP should boot up and the logo should be gone.
If your PSP has any problem or the logo is there follow these directions.
-Enter your recovery menu.
-Select "Advanced".
-Then select "format flash1 and reset settings".

Glad I could help.
But you will need to upgrade to 3.52 M33-4 or higher to have access to your flash0 via recovery menu.

I recommend you upgrade anyway.
