Anthony Perez, a game journalist for Amped news, thinks the PS3 is here to stay. Perez says the PS3 has the same advantages as its very successful predecessor, the PS2 - a base of loyal customers.

He sees a similarity between the PS2 and the PS3 in terms of history. When PS2 launched it had a poor lineup. But in time the PS2 became a console with "one of the best software libraries in the history of gaming." Will history repeat itself?

Sony isn't stupid... they wouldn't have made such bold moves with the PlayStation 3 without careful consideration about the consequences. It doesn't mean they're error-free and the PS3 couldn't possibly fail, but it's just not going to fall as easily. Sony and the PlayStation 3 are here to stay. PS3 hardware will be in full supply, compelling software will hit and the triple-A titles of forthcoming years will be revealed.

So despite the slew of thumbs down from Time Magazine, PC World, and The New York Times, it ain't over till the fat lady sings.
Bout time we heard something a little more positive about the PS3.
Still waiting for UK launch though

Still waiting is right but I'm all positive about the PS3 - positive I won't buy one at launch (too expensive and I want a Wii first)

It is good to hear something positive though - the PS3 is pretty awesome and it isn't getting a chance to prove itself imo (Sony on the other hand....don't get me started) .
