Why I should keep my PS3...

Yeah I had a 360, Wii and PS3.

Hated the 360 at first though lol, but learned to love it . Sold my PS3 over a year ago. Only just started thinking about maybe getting another one, but, my 360 takes up my gaming time, so if I got a PS3 again, it'd just be a dust magnet, with no backwards compatibility . Not that I play PS2 games and my PS2 is set up lol.

Well, instead of selling it, ask him if he'd mind, if you traded it in, for a different gaming console? Either way, it works out that he gave you a console .
I do know the feeling though, I traded my DS in, 4-5 months after my mum bought it for me, for a DS Lite. Thought she was gonna be pissed, but she understood lol.
