Star Fox Command ~ Review...ish I was a big fan of Star Fox 64 and was very excited to see Star Fox Command for the DS come out. However, I was a bit hesitant to buy it because it seemed so different than the N64 version. Well, it was my birthday a few weeks ago so I decided to give it a whirl.
At first, I wasn't huge about it, the controls were weird and I just wasn't used to it. After a few days, I'm completey addicted to it.
Unlike the N64 version, you're not going straight the whole time through a town or envirnment. Star Fox command is set up more like an arena where you have to kill a certain number of enemies and collect their stars. you play in shorter sections. For example, instead of fighting all the enemies at once for a mission, you have turns where you map out your course on a map. When you come across enemies, you fight them, and then you return to the map and fight other enemies.
I didn't like this at first, but later realized that the game would not be the same without it. Anyways, I really love Star Fox Command. After you beat one "story" you can go back and do the other levels. It's like a choose your own adventure type thing, (Go east, or go west type thing). the first time around, you can only do one thing. but when you go back, the other choices are unlocked.
Another great thing about this game is the wifi and multiplayer support.
you can have yourself and up to 5 other friends in a dogfight on just 1 card!
Well, I'll stop blabbing now and say, "Get this game!"
I give it a 8/10 |
