How to make an animation with gimp

Need to know how to make an animation with gimp? well heres a fast tut i made on how to do so. Im not that great with gimp and i can do it so now you can too

1. Go to File and then New like normal and put your measurements for the animation. You should something like this




2. Now do whatever you want in the space like this



3. Next its time to put a new layer! Just go to Layer and New. You have these choices to make the new layer.



4. White and Transparent are the ones normally used. White makes a fresh new space for you to do any thing else you want and transparent makes it so the space behind still is there so you make calculate what you need to move if needed . I'm just gona go white and draw something else.



5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as you want and needed ( im gona go white one more time and then transparent)


6.Once done with all the layers now its time to save it. Go to File ,Save as.you get something that or something like that depending on your version of gimp, save it as a gif or jpeg ( best for animations and compressed ).




7. Once you click save it brings that up. like in the picture click save as animation and export it



8. last step is to fill in the animation setting like you want it. If you want it to loop forever, how long you want it to make for each scene, ext





Here is my end result of an animation i made in a couple of seconds
