How many games per console

Me and you, we may trash talk consoles based upon their overall sales. But developers and manufacturers also care about something else. It's called the "attachment rate," or how many games an owner of a particular console is likely to buy. After 23 months on the market, the PS3 and Wii were in a deadlock with 5.3 and 5.5 games sold per system, respectively. During the same time, the Xbox 360 was at 6.4 games per system (and now, at 36 months, that number is up to 8.1).


The Xbox 360 has had a historically excellent attachment rate, and it's yet to plateau. Meanwhile, it's fairly possibly that many casual Wii buyers haven't pulled Wii Sports from the drive since they put it in, offsetting the averages pretty hard for Nintendo.


So let's turn to anecdotal evidence. How many games do you own for whatever consoles you've got? In my household, the stats are definitely in the same order as the chart, be the scale higher.

I gave the Wii to the in-laws and I had about 10 games. But I have over 50 games for my 360.

When I HAD all consoles, I think, it was pretty much the same. I however have more 360 games now, then I had with them. I have a wii again, and I havent got that many games yet, but give it time, but, I'm more likely to get at least 2 360 games before another wii game. Or even 4..........SR3, CoD: WaW, GoW2, where as Wii....umm, Sonic Chronicles, and perhaps another game but I can't remember .
I also want the new Crash Bandicoot game, and new Spyro game . I think they'd be great on the wii, but I'll have them for my 360 (achivements ).

at the mo my shelf's got 30 360 titles, 11 ps3, 8 wii, 13 ds, 5 megadrive, 6 pc, 6 gamecube, 6 xbox and guitarhero:world tour arriving tomorrow as it didn't drop through the letterbox today and 2 more for 360 pre-ordered for the end of the year.
rather expensive but pretty healthy attachment rate i reckon

Oh I am, but why play a game on the wii, when i can play it on the 360 (with component cable/hd instead of scart) and get achievement points . Seeeeeeeeee .

I'm not at home at the minute (at work again! lol), but I know for fact we have much more 360 games than we do for the Wii. We don't own a PS3 so I can't comment there, but we're always buying games for the 360. There are two in my house and there was a stage when we had a lot of duplicate games lol.

Yeah there was 2 360s in my place too, and loads of duplicate games. But, traded it in for a wii with some other stuff. Wish I still had the second 360 though . CoD4 online isn't split screen so I haven't played it in ages .

I have many 360 games, Im not going to go and count them , no Ps3 games and 5 or 6 Wii games. If the game is available on the 360, Ill get it for the 360. Thats one of the reasons Ive never wanted a PS3, I just wouldnt buy the games for it when I have a 360 .
