Nintendo has always been known for publishing a lot of first party games which have gamers practically eating out of their hands. However, the video gaming giant has expressed plans in creating projects to help third-party developers push its gaming platforms to the limit.

Shinji Hatano, Nintendo's General Manager of Marketing, explained that the company was being approached with requests on how to best utilise the best features of both the DS handheld and the Wii console.

Some third party developers expressed to Nintendo the need to create internal development teams to help external studios. Hatano explained Nintendo's stand on the matter:

Since we should not be telling these third party developers what they should do in terms of the game content per se, we are offering advice and cooperation in order to produce software which is accessible to users with the least possible stress.

He also said that third party developers should create their own internal teams to work with Nintendo's own developers. Joint projects such as the first party title First Focus, which was co-developed with Namco Bandai, and the forthcoming Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS, Wii) by Nintendo and Sega, prove the dedication of the company to release bigger and better games.

Nintendo hopes that by collaborating with other companies that the level of quality of its games can be maintained. Hatano explained that the company will continue to work with software makers in creating top notch games for everyone in the future.
