According to Kotaku and various other News sites the wonderful athletic Mirrir’s Edge will be getting a specialised DLC in the form of Time Trials Map Packs in January for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. The DLC Map Pack will contain seven new maps for your ‘running enjoyment’.

According to Kotaku ‘The freedom of movement and control in first person has been the most popular aspect of Mirror’s Edge so we decided to distil these down to their purest form for this map pack,” says Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “We deliberately chose a more abstract aesthetic that is still within our distinctive art style and then focused on flow and gameplay to create an experience and challenge very different from the main game.’ The PC version of this game is due for release on the 13th Jan, 2009 in North America and 16th Jan, 2009, in Europe.

According to Kotaku, ‘ Players will be challenged to achieve the fastest times possible on nine races across seven all-new and totally redesigned Time Trial maps. No guns, no cops, and no city: this is true aesthetics, agility and flow that will challenge any runner. This special DLC pack will be available for $10 USD or 800 Microsoft points. As an added bonus, all PLAYSTATION 3 Mirror’s Edge fans will be able to download an additional map for free.

“The freedom of movement and control in first person has been the most popular aspect of Mirror’s Edge so we decided to distil these down to their purest form for this map pack,” says Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “We deliberately chose a more abstract aesthetic that is still within our distinctive art style and then focused on flow and gameplay to create an experience and challenge very different from the main game.”

Mirror’s Edge has been awarded various awards for Best Original Game at E3 in July 2008, Best Action Game at E3 this year by IGN and Best Xbox 360 game at GC Developers Conference in Leipzip this year. The title is also on temporary sale for this week in UK GAME Stores for £24.99 so I smnapped up a copy as I been awating a price reduction. I will do a full review soon but I haveonly played the Prologue so afr and can asssure you that this game deserves the praise it is getting at the moment although this is not reflected in sales unfortunately.

HellGate : London Doors Close in 2009

News for PC gamers - the Hellgate London servers are to shut down permanently on the 31st of January next year.

This news isn’t entirely surprising as the studio that created the game, Flagship Studio’s collapsed in July, partly due to on going problems with the game online since it began in 2007. Since Flagship’s demise, Namco have maintained the servers but, the failing MMO is being cut off in the next few months and it’s very unlikely the game will be resurrected in the future.

Better news though - Hellgate:London will be FREE to play (yes, FREE!) right up until the servers close down for the final time early next year.

A Few Money Making Tips with RuneScape

Collect Feathers

A great way for new members with combat below 30 to make good money is to kill chickens and collect their feathers. Once you collect around 500 feathers, you can go to world one and sell them just to the East of the West Bank in Varrock if you’re a Free to Play member. If you’re a Pay to Play member, the best place to sell them is just North of the East Falador Bank. You can usually get about 10-20 gp each in member’s worlds. If you’re looking to buy feathers, head to fishing shops and go for larger quantities. If you buy groups of at least 1,000, you can make a substantial profit. It’s a good idea to sell to people, not stores. (more…)
